Have fun!

Sometimes life throws you a curveball. In my family’s case, it was our HVAC. We did not choose for our HVAC to give out. Neither did we encourage it. But it happened. It was a big deal because a new one costs thousands of dollars. My wife and I did what we had to do in order to make sure our family did not suffer. But it was at a hardship. A hardship that we thought would be only temporary because we had a home warranty plan with Cinch Home Services.

Cinch didn’t cover us like we thought. In fact, when we called Cinch to follow through on coverage, they denied our claim. Then they avoided our calls. They took weeks to provide any evidence as to why they denied our claim. They stated over the phone that they do not have a legal department. But then suddenly they do. It was disconcerting to say the least. But to be fair I had never had an issue with my home warranty before. Every previous time I had called things had been resolved. Maybe not always as fast as I’d liked, but eventually. In fact if I would’ve given Cinch a rating before my HVAC failure, it would have been 4-stars.

But now…now it would definitely be a one-star rating.

So I needed to involve the legal system. But I have several things to be grateful for:

1) I am grateful that my wife and I were able to quickly remedy the HVAC situation.

2) I am grateful for Cinch providing me the opportunity to learn of their less than honest business practices. It truly opened my eyes.

3) I am grateful for the opportunity to learn more of our country’s legal system.

4) I am grateful for the opportunity to create my very first blog. I sincerely hope it is helpful to at least one other person.

Through this entire process I intend to have as much fun as I can. And I encourage anyone reading this blog to do the same.

Stay safe. Stay humble. And stay learning.
